IVR Butterfly Valve About

The IVR model Butterfly dampers, offered by Intervalve are essentially seatless Butterfly valves intended for low pressure gas lines and air lines. The lightweight construction with the narrow wafer body enables easy fitment of these valves in ducts, manifolds and exhaust lines without additional support or strengthening of pipe lines.

IVR valves are primarily intended for low-pressure large volume gas / air flow control applications. The absence of seat substantially reduces the valve operating torque requirements and makes the valve very effective for flow control / regulation duties. IVR is an ideal choice for furnace air flow and combustion control applications

Built for Versatile Industrial Performance

The IVR Butterfly Valve stands out for its adaptability in demanding sectors like water treatment, HVAC, and oil & gas. Designed with a resilient body and disc options, it ensures reliable sealing and precise flow control even under challenging pressures and temperatures. Its compliance with ISO 5211 and lightweight construction makes installation and integration effortless for engineers and maintenance professionals alike.

Durable Construction and Reliable Sealing

With body material choices of cast iron or ductile iron and an epoxy powder coating, this butterfly valve offers long-term durability and protection against corrosion. The EPDM or NBR seat materials deliver excellent resistance to wear and chemicals, while disc options in ductile iron or stainless steel cater to specific application environments for enhanced performance and longevity.

FAQs of IVR Butterfly Valve:

Q: How does the IVR Butterfly Valve ensure leak-tight performance in industrial applications?

A: The IVR Butterfly Valve utilizes EPDM or NBR seat materials which offer excellent elasticity and sealing properties. With a precision-finished disc in ductile iron, SS 304, or SS 316, and an epoxy powder-coated body, the valve maintains a reliable seal even under high pressure (up to PN 16) and varying temperatures, minimizing the risk of leaks.

Q: What are the benefits of choosing the IVR Butterfly Valve for water treatment and HVAC systems?

A: Choosing the IVR Butterfly Valve for water treatment and HVAC applications provides efficient flow regulation, corrosion resistance, and ease of operationeither via lever or gear box. Its lightweight design aids in simple installation and maintenance, while compatibility with multiple media enhances versatility within these sectors.

Q: When should I select between ductile iron, SS 304, or SS 316 discs?

A: Disc material selection depends on the process media and environmental conditions. Ductile iron suits general industrial usage, while SS 304 and SS 316 offer superior corrosion resistance for aggressive media or environments, such as those containing chlorides or requiring higher hygienic standards.

Q: Where can the IVR Butterfly Valve be installed, and which end connection should I use?

A: This valve is suited for installation in pipelines across industrial plants, water treatment facilities, HVAC systems, and oil & gas setups. Depending on system requirements, you can choose between wafer type or lugged type end connections, ensuring compatibility with your pipeline configuration.

Q: What is the process for operating and maintaining the IVR Butterfly Valve?

A: Operation is straightforward: the valve can be operated manually using either a lever or gear box for smooth opening and closing. Regular inspection and cleaning of the seating area are recommended to ensure optimal performance and to prolong valve service life, especially in applications with suspended particulates.

Q: How does the lightweight and compact design of the IVR Butterfly Valve benefit system installation?

A: The valves lightweight and compact profile allows for easier handling and quicker installation, reducing labor requirements and aiding in configurations where space is limited. This design also facilitates straightforward integration into existing systems without adding significant weight or bulk.
